Bangle's got to go
As if we needed more proof... Check out the new Benz CSL.

Mercedes has proven that it is possible to build a modern, beautiful sedan whose design needs no excuses.

While I do agree that Bangle has got to go - over on the M-B board many of us feel that the new CSL looks a little too much like an Aurora or TL for our tastes...

Bangle needs to dangle.
That said, in this case, I don't think the MB CLS is any better looking than the new 6 Series.

aren't sales up huge on the 7 series though.? I guess just because one person doesn't like it won't stop a zillion others from buying.... it is afterall... a BMW...woooohooooo.... it is hard to talk about how wonderfull you are if you drive anything but a bmw.?

As for the 6? It is merely stunning in person. Wow. For all the body slams that American designer Chris Bangle has taken for designs from the 3, 5 or 7, he hit one out of the park with this car. Congrats Chris.

I agree with everything Fanman said. And this year, 7-series sales are down, S-class sales up. S-class has passed the 7 in sales. Lexus LS430 sales are well down, but still ahead of the 7-series. I no longer even think about these cars (Z4, 5, 6, 7). To think that they're going to do this with the benchmark of them all, the 3-series, just makes me sad.
