The real danger was to the BM rider in trying to hit another object while moving.
Remember the physics of equal and opposite reactions? I can tell you that if you hit or kick another object with a sideways movement you are just as likely to bring yourself down as do damage to the other object.

When I used to ride I always kept handy some marbles, rocks and such for this type stupidity. A cracked windshield always woke them up. But then again it was used only for times that really threatened life. Just my .02

I'm surprised how many of you commend such actions. I don't know if it's just all talk or what, but why support the negative image that the public already has of us? We should be working to better our relationship with cagers. Just as this motorcyclist struck the SUV, there maybe some cager who saw this happen and conclude that all motorcyclists are assholes. Then someday down the line this person might be in an unfriendly state-of-mind, see a motorcyclist, and decide to give back some retribution whereby risking another rider's life.

What do you expect? BMW motorcycle=cocky bastard in my book. They won't step aside for nothin'! I've had the same "Road Whore" experience. A few times they have buddied up with me but won't even look my direction. Makes me nervous when I'm next to some guy who thinks he's the sh!t cause those are the guys who make stupid decisions.

David: I have to agree with you on this one. Just because the SUV made a illegal move does not give motorcyclists the right to retalliate. I think for those of you who condone this type of behavior, just remember who's life you are risking - YOURS!
I for one have really toned down my anger and just "forget it" because it's not worth it. Spending anytime in the hospital just to say yeah I got even is STUPID in my book. I've been riding for almost 9 years now and if I got mad everytime someone cut me off, I'd probably not be here right now.
Let the police do their job and I just want to enjoy my bike and get to my destination safely...my 2 cents.
btw, now all BMW owners are bad just as I've found my share of Honda drivers who are A$$ holes too
