Would you say a Pontiac GT or a PT Cruiser is just as well built as a Mercedes or a BMW?

Well, no! However, your average Pontiac and your average PT cost a fraction of what your average Benz or BMW cost.
Having said that, I wouldn't commit myself to say which one will last longer without problems - my PT or my S.
