easy there...i wasn't saying, or even implying, that you were lying - i just wanted to see proof of the claim. and yes, Colin's explanation of improperly resetting the ECU between dynos sheds alot of light on why they were seeing zero power gains. i knew there had to be something fishy going on...after all, its impossible to not see a gain after replacing the stock exhaust with a freer-flowing exhaust system...unless the above kind of technical difficulties occur during testing.

I do remember the post about the Amuse parts not making a lot of HP, but the person had ZERO ecu tuning.... you can reset the ECU all you want and it may account for a few HP, but you can have the same fluctuation in Dyno numbers from pass to pass anyway...
excellent point.

[QUOTE=neveronlines2k,May 23 2009, 09:00 AM]...and FYI its not impossible to modify parts on a car and not realize gains

well, yes...but in the sense of the very reason you made above...if dyno fluctuations can account for as much power variance as resetting the ECU might account for, then it is possible to literally see no gains (or perhaps losses) on consecutive dyno passes...and i understand quite well that the S is an over-engineered car (i know a thing or two about over-engineered cars )...and after all, i did say this earlier on :
Sorry I dont know how I typed that....LOL I meant it is possible to modify the car and not see gains .

Nice pictures and car parts! Would be nice to afford some of those things someday!

On a side note, why can't everyone here just get along ?! Congrats on the job too. I would trade my line of work for half the pay to do something I love in a heart beat (why I haven't yet I have no clue). So I might drive a civic instead of my S2000, painful yes, but I'd rather have a life I'm proud of and not look back on the past 30 years of my life and wonder what on earth did I accomplish in life...

Hey Colin,

How is the 350Z community modifying their Z, with high end parts or do they prefer the replica route?

Tan,

Unfortunately the Z community is SWAMPED with knockoff parts, I'd say 99% of the vendor threads over there are for replica body kits. It's definitely not like the s2k community (which Hunter and I absolutely adore) where there is a large number of people who see the value of purchasing high quality parts. Overall, Honda guys are the frontrunners of high quality JDM.

I'm bringing the ARC bar over to page 3 because this thing deserves to be seen!
