Autotrader fraud
Originally i figured if it was on autotrader 99% of the time it would be legit. But lately i have been seeing things like. 5k for a 04 s2k with 20kmiles and the person will email me back saying they had to leave the country and it costs to much to ship it over so they just want to get rid of it really fast. But i cant come test drive it and they want to use some 3rd party money site ( i forget the name) this has happened twice i think same story basically and same 3rd party site. Also i ran into an 07 wrx sti 9k miles 14k clean title everything guy wanted to use ebay and said that i would send the money to an ebay trust account they would send me the car i inspect the car and if i liked it i keep it and they send the money. Thats bs according to an ebay rep. Ebay has nothing to do with that kind of stuff. Their was a similar one to that with an 06 s2k it may still be listed.
Im just wondering how often you guys run into scams like these. I know for sure the wrx one was because the guy made the mistake of posting the vin. I ran the vin on Google found a listing on yahoo autos same pics and everything except the car was 31k and it was located in another state.

I saw the same thing with one s2000 and an NSX. Funny thing was, I found the same nsx for sale on another website for a totally different price and at a different location. Like they say, do deals locally just to be safe. sucks though

I'll sell you my s2000 for 5 bucks. Just sent me a deposit of 2000000 dollars in case you are a fraud. I'll return your money if you don't keep the car.

Ah, those Nigerians are on a new attack again. They're all over Craigslist and now moving to Autotrader, it seems.
Is it possible for the U.S. govt to fight both the Middle Eastern terrorists and Nigerian scam artists at the same time? Those scam artists are really an annoying pain in the ass.

The sad part of all this that people fall for it all the time. I wonder how many of this scammers have nice houses with very nice cars without sweating for it. They should be tracked down and shot in the balls. IMO.
