they both have 4 doors...

I honestly don't know how the Evo made "car of the year", but it is a good all around car..... so.... i guess it seems right.

2004's are not out yet...... that I know of (not that I know any more than anyone else anyway).

Motor Trend is the least credible of the lot...ever since they named the Chevy Caprice classic COTY back in the early 90's, I've glossed over their pick. sometimes it's a good car, like the G35...sometimes it's not. I like C&D's 10 best (which included 3 Honda products this year, while no other single manufacturer got more than one). yay honda!

I want to drive one some day. I wish Mitsu could bring out the car in Canada. Seems like it'd be a little more "pure" than the STi

Motor Trend is pretty notorious for selling their COY award, however in this case the Prius is pretty amazing. So is the Evo, but obviously for different reasons.

If you're gonna kill Motor Trend (i hate it too) you might as well kill Automobile. The Dodge Neon was Car of the year, I believe in '95. They got a ton of letters over that one

I remember the PT cruiser one someone's car of the year award... ahaha.... i drove an automatic version one time..... it hit 102mph and just stayed there.... that was about 5800rpm in 3rd gear......it wouldn't shift to 4th until i let off because it wouldn't go any faster.......
