Wow... I never liked the original pics of it when it came out, but the R8 looks stunning in that color combo in those pics...

That car is super hot...

Did it have LEDs to illuminate the engine bay?

that one did not have carbon fiber engine bay and did not have the leds in the engine bay...
if i am lucky enough to order one, i will have both of those options on it-
prob will load it with all options, except for the paddle shifters- still not convinced that the lambo tranny problems have been resolved. although by the time i get high enough on the list maybe we will know for sure!!
manual tranny is fine with me...
have driven cars with paddles... lotsa fun (i especially enjoy figuring out how to "blip" downshift them- each is different), but not worth the "downtime" (shop time) that most exotics are experiencing with the paddles. strange that the race cars can make paddles work, but street cars still suffer problems-

im not that impressed with the center console... it doesnt flow well with that gap in the middle... the vents/nav screen area seems like an afterthought... i like the car and Audi interiors in general... but it just seems that even other Audi model's have a nicer center console...

I wonder how it's going to feel to toss around (being more than 3500 lbs ).

These big-ish sports cars are the norm these days.

The R8 is very similar in power/weigh to the new M3.

i think thats where all wheel drive comes in...
not gonna be as nimble as our cars, but the 4wd, and mid-engine should be a pretty sticky car.

compared to the new M3... the R8's has a smaller wheelbase, is shorter, wider, and lower, rear-biased weight distribution... wider rear tires, plus lower seating position and more supportive seats... and a rear biased AWD power split .... similar to the RS4 and the Porsche's... and a tighter suspension (hopefully)... throw in arguably better brakes... its all and through a coherently engineered luxury sports-car... no doubt... its not a GT...

but you pay for it...

although i hear the steering may not rival the M3 or the Porsche's...
