I post mainly because I have no social life, but I ran my S2000 with a hardtop pretty much all time. I'm a hardtop guy. I would like a car with a power folding hardtop for the very rare times I want to go topdown , otherwise I am good with not having a convertible top. I love the S2000 but I just never cared for the convertible aspect of it. If the car was available with a fixed roof I would have taken it that way. I don't even care for sunroofs on my cars.

Yeah I hate convertibles too, despite owning two. I gutted the soft top on my S2000.

Not much love here! Maybe if they had left that big ass wing on the back, more people would approve. Personally, if I was looking for a NEW convertible, I would give it a look. Might even be collectible someday, given that others don't like it. Yeah I know it's only a rendition.

Taking the front of the of the ugliest Hondas ever built is not a good starting point for a future S2000 "rendering".

F no. No man. No.

With the staggered stance it must be RWD. I wonder what car(s) other than a CTR the artist combined to make this - either way it looks like a quality photoshop.

I don't think the front of the car is super ugly, but hopefully the back wouldn't have the big fake vents.

***EDIT: After seeing the S2000/Subaru front end thread it looks like it was just an S2000/CTR***

Well this is all just somebodies fun project to do, not an indicator of anything that would ever be produced. So the stagger is likely just because it looked cool or a remnant of the cars they used to make the image. If it were truly a convertible Civic there would be no reason it would not be a Del Sol just like the original one was. And if it were RWD they would not start with a FWD platform, they would just build a RWD platform. All fun to talk about I guess, but again, just some renderings someone did for the fun of it.

If Honda did this, they'd best remember that it needs to be RWD and thus stick with the S2000 line name (perhaps if they didn't want to resurrect the line, something like S2000.5? ) I don't see there being much need for a sporty roadster in FWD, and a RWD Civic breaks all the rules.

I agree. I hate fake vents.

I hated them so much I had the fake front vents converted to real vents on my S2000.
