Thumbs up Aprilia Shiver

So, what are people's thoughts on the Shiver? I'm starting to think about Aprilias but I don't know much about them - are they pretty reliable?

I like the overall design, V engine, and the naked look. Orange is a good color, too.

Very competitive priced and its Italian. For $8,999 I would go for the Kawasaki Z1000. The naked look is just growing on me every day.

Looks OK, but a bit on the heavy side.
I'll keep my '03 Tuono

Actually, I might *not* keep the Tuono, considering selling it and relying solely on the SV for commuting/backroads/track days.

Aprilia reliability is a big plus, btw. Well known for being well-built bikes with few if any idiosyncracies. Mine's been dead reliable, ZERO issues over the 8k miles I've put on it (at 11k total now). FWIW, the engine is Austrian (Rotax).

Nice, but if you're considering Aprilia, you may want to also consider the MV Agusta. For me, it stole the show last year at the annual Motorcycle Show.

For shear looks, yeah. However, the bike has it's fault. Shitty gas mileage just to name one. Another would be leaky forks. My buddy owned one for about 8 months before he got bored with it. Got it at a swacking deal so he couldn't refuse, even with all the known issues.
