Default Ap2 needs more rpm...dyno

Everything i have read on this site is that the ap2 drops off after 8k. Well according to my dyno today. I think i need more rpm. Because we didnt even hit peak. Still climbing pretty good at the rev limiter. Maybe like 8400 8500 and id see peak hp?

I believe wit the Hondata you get more mid and can raise the redline a bit. 8500 if I recall. I believe and this is data that the motor will rev past that but it drops off.

at some point not much higher than 8500 pistons start going through blocks. My racing AP2 motor grenaded when the next owners ran it a little above 8500rpm routinely. I had no issues for a full season at 8300ish. All tuned by Hondata (i think... its been a few years).

Ignoring the strange torque plot (curves should cross at 5252rpm).

My Gernby FlashPro tuned '06 makes peak power (221HP at the rear wheels) at 7959 rpm. Standard fuel cutoff (rev limiter) is 8200 rpm and on my ECU is 8400rpm but it really doesn't matter much other than not requiring a second gear shift to hit 60mph with my 255mm rear tires. My VTEC engages at 3600rpm.

The plot oddness is because torque and hp are not on the same scale

Of the hundreds of these plots that I've seen over the years, yours doesn't seem correct in some way. Is your Honda stock?

FWIW peak power is around 7,800 RPM, so you should start to see the drop even before the 8,300 fuel cut.

It is hard to tell, but it may be that your power curve is at the flattening point at current max rpm, torque is starting to drop quickly. I am not sure if there is much benefit if the curve is flattening, only one way to tell though if you think it is worth the effort and expense.
