forget lexus, my dad was looking at that car as well as others in the same group. head over to your local land rover dealership and get an LR3. theyre amazing.
When i was shopping for a SUV. i looked at BMW, VW, Acura, Benz, and Lexus RX 330 and GX 470. My uncle has Benz, my brother-in-law has Acura MDX, and my parents have RX330.
i wanted to test drive all of them, compare price, and wanted to see what they can offer me as a complete package.
I ended up with GX470 and i still believe GX470 is perfect...at least for me it is.
It is ALOT more room than a RX330, has the power of V8...yeah gas mileage isnt so good but still I get about 340 miles before needing fuel.
It is my far more luxury than ones above I mentioned. The leather, DVD player, 3rd roll seats, dash boards, Navigator, air suspension that lowers itself when the car is stoped and many more just beats others.

They look cool and probably are great for a status mobile, but you are taking a risk when buying anything from England no matter who owns them. Seeing I will be transporting my clients on a weekly basis I need something that is reliable even if it means giving up a little styling or snobbery. I've had two Lexus so far and they have never given me any problems. I've had three Euro cars, B5 S4, C32, and 330i and all of them have given me problems at some point. The 330i was the most reliable, just my alternator went out 2 hours after driving off the lot but since has been flawless. The S4 blew it's turbos and needed the clutch replaced after 5k miles, the C32 had too many problems to list. So you see why I would like to stick with a Japanese brand.
Why do you 'need' to upgrade from an RX330 to a GX470? G/f is planning on getting an RX330 down the road. How did you like it?
I love the it. Ride is great, MPG is great for a SAV, usually between 21-24 MPG with a 50-50mix driving, and it has been bullet-proof. I like the GPS and rear entertainment system. The leather is even softer than a GOX 470. I would not give up this car if I didn't need the extra seats. I looked at MDXs but at the time I didn't need the 3rd row and the leather and other interior build materials didn't feel up to Lexus standards. I also read on the forums that the MDX gets about 15-17MPG and is a real heavy weight even though it looks similar size to a RX330. I highly recommend the RX.
