From what a highway patrolman told me, they top out in the 130s.

We used to race on this tollway locally and one day we pulled over and were chit chatting and the guy pulled up in his Crown Vic.

He loved our cars. Then he told us that if we are doing 150, just keep going; not point in stopping. He wouldnt even chase us.

275rwhp, 350rwtq?

THat makes NO sense. Especially if it were a run of the mill cop car. As everyone said, some cooling system upgrades, and a ton of extra weight are about the only differences.

I remember watching some World's Scariest Police chase or some other Fox special and some kids were in a modified Honda I think, and they were pulling away from Trooper whomever, and the Trooper, utilizing the power of the Motorola, radioed ahead and two semi trucks formed a roadblock on the highway in an effort to slow them down.

Sure you may be able to outrun the cruiser, but a Motorola is a different story.

"police Inerceptor" is a real misnomer anymore. "Back in the day" the Ford and Merc Interceptor used hopped up 428 CJ enignes and beefed suspension. Now that was an "interceptor".

I remember that same show. They called a geo metro or something running at high speeds a "fast modified car".

I was heading south on the Garden State Parkway (NJ) late one night when two bikes blew by like I was standing still (I was only doing 70). As I pulled up to the first southbound tollbooth, a cop car just flew thru the tollbooth next to me, with no lights on - no headlights, no nothing. I never saw him coming. I guess he might have caught the bikes eventually, if they slowed down enough.
