Default Anyone else always want to buy random cars?

It's a sickness, really. I often find myself on autotrader.com looking for this random, older car or that random, older car (preferably lightly used and in beautiful condition), then thinking about it for days, and, finally, talking myself out of buying it. Currently, I want to buy this:

I don't know why. I just think a classic M5 could be kinda cool to have. I don't need another daily driver (FX works great), and if I were to buy another play car for under $25K, I'd probably get another S2000 (been looking for those too but can't decide between AP1 and AP2). I'll probably talk myself out of both, though, because what I really want, I think, is a new or newish (3.4L 987) Boxster S. I just don't know why I can't stop myself from looking...

Anyone else suffer from this affliction?

Yep, me too. The amount of money I've wasted buying and selling cars over the years is horrifying.

Well, then, at least you pull the trigger. I waste all this time looking and ultimately talk myself out of buying. A buddy of mine who knows BMWs just told me how fickle the motors can be in the E34 M5s and said that I could be looking at crazy unknown maintenance costs with the car linked above. So, I probably won't buy. I just end up buying new, conservative stuff, except for my last S2000 which was bought used but with only 2600 miles. Big leap. My Old Lady also doesn't seem to like used cars since I dragged her to Atlanta to look at a 540iT that came with a $2400 repair bill. Didn't buy that one either. Guess I'll just have to convince her to buy me that new Boxster S sooner rather than later...

I want a 96 NSX-T but I have to pay off the S first... I could get a 95 RX-7 for less, but then there's the maint... Maybe a 300ZX TT.... or an MR2.... I think I just want a 90s sports car.

When I'm old(er) and rich(er), I'm going to shuffle $35k used cars like a deck of cards....

If you had a whole lotta cars, reliability and mileage wouldn't matter.

I would def buy a last gen M5 in black, of course.
