Get out to Las Vegas and spend the $10 to take the Corvette out on the track at "The Drive". I was very impressed with the C6. The C5 was too large looking over the hood. The C6 is perfect, it really drives like a smaller car. The interior is a huge improvement over the C5, I couldn't find any flaws in the car. I thought some of the features were hookey, like the HUD on the window and the keyless entry, getting out is not very intuitive, I had to push a button that looked more like it was for unlocking the door.

I've never owned, or wanted to own, an American car my entire life, but the C6 is a winner and I might get one in a few years.

I don't see any reason why not. The C6 looks great, especially in white, black, blue, yellow. IMHO one of the best brand new car you can buy below $50k.

There are only 2 dealers that take GMID as of right now, thats Kerbeck, in Jersey and Les Stanford, in Michigan.
Not really. My son walked into his closest local dealer in the SF Bay area with his GM supplier discount and made a deal on a new Z51 C6. Although GM did not want to honor his GM card discount combined with the supplier discount on a on a Vette, he talked to the business manager to maximize the dealers profit and minimize his purchase price. In the end I think they dropped the supplier discount, used the GM card dollars, and came up with a lower price. His Z51/3lt/nav loaded car had a sticker of over 52K but he bought it for under 47K.

It appears that many dealers that have the Vette allocation to spare (more lately) and is not holding out for top dollar will take the GMID on an ordered Corvette.

New 06' or new 07'? Most dealers will take gmid/gms on 06's but not 07's. If they accepted gmid for an 06' thats not too uncommon. Every local dealer I went to would accept the GMID on IN STOCK vettes, not ordered ones. 07's are only hitting the market now,

I told you the car is a good performer but
I dont think its exotic- maybe a Z06 but no way a c6. The C6 is a housewives special or a trailer park queen. Get used to it.

I would be jealous maybe if it was a Ford GT. But then again if I really wanted a Ford GT I would just go out an buy one

Just keep thinking that next time a C6 blows by you on a road course. I never said either one was exotic but, I think we both know you're characterization of the C6 is way off base. Next time you are at a road course look around, alot of Corvettes, not many housewives. If you do a little research you will find most C6 owners make well into 6 figures.

I agree they are very fast on the track. Last time at the track I saw a twin turbo race prepped porsche being destroyed by 3 C5 Z06 vettes. Pretty impressive. And quite funny too as the porsche driver had all the race gear, hans device etc. And the vette drivers looked like they were on the way to the grocery store
