Another ummm... *uninformed* car salesman story...
My folks are looking at getting a new car. I had the day off so I decided to take them out for some car shopping and Korean food...
We hit the Mazda dealer. I like the Mazda 6. We checked that one out as well as the minivan and the Protege' (need room for a wheelchair)
None really worked - but the 6 was pretty nice looking.
Salesman asks me what I drive - I tell him I love my S2000. He says "We just had a guy over the summer trade one in on a Miata..." I said - "Why the hell would anyone do that?" He says... "That's what we thought too!.. I guess he just wanted a Miata. On top of that - he probably lost $6,000 on the deal."
I hope I hid the
- Probably not, because he then informs me that the Miata is faster from 0 to 60. 
I replied - "Excuse me?!?" He said - oh sure... the S2000 is faster after 60 mph but the Miata is faster up until 60. I laughed in his face and said - "Tell you what - I'll come back later today in my S. You pick any new Miata here on your lot and your best driver and we'll go 2 out of 3. I win - I get this 5 speed Mazda 6 - you win - you get my S2000."
I can't believe he declined. I asked him where he got that little tidbit of information - he said he read it in some magazine...

Car salesmen are FUNNY. hehe.
When I was car shopping last fall, the salesman was trying to tell me the RSX-S did 0-60 in 5.5 - I'm like, TF? I love this car, but I know it doesn't do it anything near that. I still bought one, but not from that dealer.

the miata is faster than the s2000 to 60 mph, but first you must deflate the s2k's rear tires to 4 psi. set the parking brake as hard as you can, launch at 2000 rpm in 5th gear with 4 100 lbs bags of cement in the trunk!

I want to further add to the stupidity of some car salesman. I just wanted to add that I came back from the Inifiniti dealership yesterday because my cousin wanted to look at the G35 coupe. I was talking to one of the car salesman since he noticed my S and came over. He was talking about how rare the G35 coupe was going to be compared to the S and how the state of Texas was going to get 12,000 of these babies a month. 
I didn't say anything and just nodded my head in amusement with his lack of knowledge. This guy lost all respect from me so I walked back towards my cousin and another salesman.
