dude, a 12/12 warranty scares me even more than "no warranty" for some reason...it sort of implies the car isn't designed to manage that power but they're "pretty sure it won't blow up immediately".

I don't know about all the heavy modding of cars. You're subject to the same risks the manufacturer is with repair work; so if they don't think it is a good risk beyond 12k then neither should you. If you blow an engine and it costs you 20k to fix, then you've got $60k into the car and suddenly it doesn't seem like a good deal (especially if you "repair" it back to the same state that it blew up in).

You don't hear about a lot of engines blowing up on the web, but I think it is partially because people sell the cars quickly before they explode or because people aren't too quick to tell everyone they blew their engine up.

Considering a majority of people on S2ki have voided their warranties in one way or another, who cares?

You mod the car, you take the risk. And yes I am well versed in Magnussen-Moss, blah blah blah.

I don't think this mod seems like much of a gamble at all...

...you can count on something going wrong.

I love how we always manage to point out the bad.

Seriously, don't mod if you care about your warranty. That should be a given with any car. Besides that I think its awesome, not bad pricing either.

Sounds great. Ford keeps improving the Mustang.
I personally wouldn't jump for the mod, but then again, my S2K is still stock. Modding isn't something I'm into, but if you are and you can afford maintenance afterward, more power to you (no pun intended).

I wouldn't be the first in line, but it would be interesting how it works out for the people who are.

There are a number of manufacturers that allow for OEM power mods that do not invalidate the manufacturer's warranty. Cars like the Solstice got higher-boost ECUs, BMW has higher-boost ECUs for their 3-Series, etc, etc, without changing the warranty. Heck, Toyota fully warranties vehicles with its TRD supercharger package as well if they're installed at the dealership.

If warrantee issues concern you when it comes to an aftermarket supercharging kit, you clearly cannot afford it.
