Will the motor retain its warranty? The power is good but if you lose your warranty, it kind of loses its appeal. You should have good factory support if anything goes wrong, at least.

...and will the transmission, etc be able to handle all that power? I'm sure there is more modding that would need to take place to accommodate all that power.
The GT500 isn't just a GT with more horsepower. Having said that...if I were in the market for a mustang, I'd probably just be happy with the basic GT...actually, I would probably just be happy with the V6.

Warranty hasn't really ever been a factor for me...I know when I mod that it's most likely my pocket that will take the hit if something goes wrong. Maybe I'm wrong but I have always felt that good old American V8's were relatively bullet proof even when pushing them beyond what they were designed for.

If you read the article you'll see that for the 525hp state of tune you get a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty. If you go for the 624hp tune, you void the warranty.
