They changed tire brands for the Italia. Michelin Pilot Sports, instead of the Bridgestones
I guess Michelin are the new it tires.

i love how he describes DSG trannys, "anodyne-removed-clinical". 1:46

its somewhat true, the ones i've driven (gti/dsg and isf/sdst) the downshifts are great but could use a little more feel on upshifts.

[QUOTE=QUIKAG,Nov 29 2009, 06:21 AM] From inside the 458, I swear it sounds like an S2000 in VTEC.

I agree with all of the comments about the sound of the engine. I thought the 355, especially when equipped with a Tubi, sounded absolutely amazing, but the engine notes kept getting more and more mundane with the 360, 430, and now 458. I am in no way knocking this car- I think it is a technological marvel and an engineering masterpiece, but I have this sad feeling that Ferrari is starting to suck the soul out of their cars in the name of performance numbers and statistics (no more manual trans option is another example of this)

And say what you want about the Lexus LF-A, but THAT is what an engine should sound like!

Cool car, annoying video. The multiple interruptions with that scribble/scratch video effect gave me a headache.

Listen that 458 sound then get back to LFA video and start from 2:15... it's just not even comparable. I definitely prefer the older Ferrari sound. I'm a die hard fan of high-pitched sound.

I have to agree with the comments about the engine sounding similar to the S2000, although I think we can all agree that this is not a bad thing!

The first half of the video was annoying, but then it got good when he took his drive. Nope, you wouldn't have to twist my arm to take one of these. OTOH, is it worth a quarter of a million+?? Maybe as an object d'art, but as far as driving goes I reckon you could have just as much fun behind the wheel of cars costing 1/10 the price.

(I'm going through one of my supercars are overrated phases at the moment)
