From inside the 458, I swear it sounds like an S2000 in VTEC. No, I'm not a die-hard S2000 fanboi that thinks it's the greatest car ever and I'm not trying to compare the 458 to S2000 in any way but inside sound.
Start at 2:45 or so and from inside the cockpit, it sounds very, very similar to an S2000 at high rpm. A bit disappointing actually. I'm sure in person it has a different tone and obviously is WAY more powerful, but I'm surprised at the similar pitch.
I'd have to drive both
, but I may actually prefer an LP560 Lambo.
