AE86 is just another member in my long list of cars from the 70s and 80s that I want to own.. Starion/Conquest TSI, FC RX-7, Datsun Z, Audi Sport Quattro, and too many more to list.

Yea the 86 is a pretty cool car and I'll have to admit I only like it because of Takumi.
I'd love to get a FD, paint it yellow, and put the RE-Amemiya kit on it.....and I think I'm closing in on an FD. Going to check one out this weekend.

AE86 is the best car to learn RWD dynamics. (Miata is also good.)
Pros:
AE86 is perfectly balanced, and the feedback you get from the car is amazing. It's an amazing project car for next to nothing.
Awesome at autoX.
Cons:
20+ year old design
really bad chassis flex
no top end
I loved it when I had it. It is awesome at autoX. But, it's a project car at best... way too old & personally not worth putting mucho $$$ into.
