They all share the same center trim running across the dash/thick center console stereo area/parking brake/door handle grab "bars" and numerous other things like the shape and location of AC vents. Look at how the seat belt holsters poke out even.
All that changes slightly is the shape and materials here and there. Otherwise when you sit in a BMW interior it's ALWAYS very familiar coming from owning the previous gen. The biggest difference between the modern Bimmers and old school ones is the steering wheel and that's about it.
I consider a change in interior as in what you see Acura/Lexus/Etc do with each new generation, almost completely different from the previous. Look at the current and previous TL, current and previous IS, etc. Those are changes.
