They are kind of like a 2 stroke in the sense that their combustion events are completed in a single revolution although they do accomplish all 4 cycles of combustion like a 4 stroke, and also like 2 stroke piston engines they need some oil in the chamber.
This stuff makes me want to build a 3 rotor NA with semi p-port for my Z some day. Some guys making close to 500WHP NA on 2.0 3 rotors.

Interesting engine for sure. Incredible NA potential per liter - like a 2 stroke

The real benefit is the weight of it is so condensed and so low to the ground. Nothing 'handles' better than a rotary engine. I heard some rumours that the LM rule book is technically allowing for rotary's again. Doesn't mean Mazda will take the bait but it would be epic to see a comeback of the rotary to racing <3
