$80K for 240 hp and 2200 lbs? The weight is amazing but you're still only talking about 9.1 lbs/hp. That's the same as a Cayman S, which can be had for quite a bit cheaper. Not sure how many people will buy an Alfa with very little dealership support and a poor performance record in the USA.

It'll be fun but you're paying a pretty penny for it. Apparently only 1100 are coming to the USA so they'll probably still sell them all.

Nearly every super car produced today has some form of DCT transmission, which is not the same as an "automatic". The "outrage" over this is getting a little tiring, really.

Funny thing about rumors, they tend to exaggerate. Since the first rumors about this car surfaced, the price has gone up, weight has gone up, and power has gone down. What started as something amazing is now more of an "oh, well that's interesting" car.

There is always the Ariel Atom for those who really want to be "hardcore".

Keep in mind that the dealers are going to gouge for this car so they can try and get the tools and training investment back on the one car they might get. The dealer here by me already has a wait list at 20k over sticker whatever that will be.

I'd wait for the official announcement to comment on price. At any rate, it's not going to offer near the C7's bang for the buck, but w/ limited production capacity, it doesn't need to. If you think it's overpriced, that's OK, as I'm sure they'll have no problem selling them all assuming it's as good as it looks on paper.

Ya at that price you could grab the Stingray and keep the pocket change. Or wait to see the new Z06 which I'm assuming will be phenomenal

All carbon fiber car with fancy mechanicals albeit a small engine is not going to be cheap no matter who the manufacturer is. I bet this car will be amazing, but how many will put that much money into such a small car? Size does matter when opening the wallet to a degree.

According to Alfa's site it will be sub 1870lb with a weightower of less than 8.8lb/hp. That puts it at >215hp.
