The power output should be as advertised. I already added up to 150 lbs for weight. Price doesn't matter - it's way lighter and roughly as powerful as the competition so it can readily cost more and it's still viable. It'd have to lose a LOT of power to actually give up anything to the Porsche twins.

0-60 is someone's estimate and, comparing with similar cars today means it'll probably be faster, not slower, if it's anywhere near those specs.

2,000 lbs, 300 hp, and a 7 speed DCT gearbox doesn't seem to add up to a 4.5 second 0-60 time. Super tall rear end gears for relaxed cruising? Comes with boat anchor? Nah. At 6.7 lbs/hp it seems more like a 3.8 - 4.0 second car.

I wonder if they still plan on this being the first Alfa released in the US? They had originally promised Fiat dealers a 2012 Alfa to be sold, pushed that to 2013, and now if this doesn't come out to summer 2014 I bet some dealers are pissed.

Do they even have a dealer network? Is just FMNA dealers or did some sign up for Alfa franchises? One point a few years ago, there was talks about showrooms split with Saab, but we know where Saab is today. Actually, the shuttered dealerships would be good for Alfa. A similar kind of driver and price point. As long as they don't go with Chrysler and Alfa which helped Alfa leave the market. They could not sell Alfa's well and the mechanics were so Alfa savvy. I sure hope they come back, but I am skeptical.

Agree, should be more like a mid 3 second car. The Elise/Exige with a blower and 250 crank hp at 2000 lbs can get close to the mid 3's in Pro Solo/drag strip launch conditions with good tires.

Yea they do apparently when you bought a Fiat dealership you got the rights to purchase Alfa when that rolled around. That's why the Fiat dealers are going to be ticked, all they have is the 500 right now. 4C was promised for this year now it looks like 2014 before anything shows up to sell.

Oh geez, FIAT's are not high margin cars and the service department is not getting rich off them either... I can see how they'd be pissed there's only the 500 for sale and that's. Alfa needs the whole line up here ASAP! I thought the USA was going to get the next iteration of their line up when it is ready. Alfa was supposed to manufacture models here too. The new Spyder is shared platform with Miata which sounds great. The Multipla would be as successful as the 500 if it was sold here. The Nissan Juke is odd looking and selling well...

As a 90s kid I never really saw Alfa's or ever even heard of them until I started watching Top Gear, played Forza etc. Now I'm quite sad that they aren't on this side of the pond and really am looking forward to their revival. I'd definitely rock a 4c and daily a 500 Abarth. It just seems like they know how to style cars and make things fun (although I've heard horror stories in terms of reliability)

The horror stories were very real, but so was the styling and fun. I'm really hoping they bring the 4C and that it at least gets near modern car reliability.
