Alfa is more attractive to an older generation, Europeans and women. Most under 40 don't get the allure.

Browsing the gallery of pictures on the 4C, the level of detail and manufacture look much higher than any Cayman. The carbon fiber layout looks incredible, as does the routing underneath.

Where would one even put a desposit on an Alfa 4C in USA now? Are all FM or Fiat dealers going to be Alfa dealers potentially?

Oh, I totally get the allure. It's the ownership experience that left me cold. The Milano was, by far, the worst car we owned in our history, only possibly matched by a too-old Dodge Caravan that my Mom bought for cheap after my parents divorced.

That's unfortunate, my experience with Alfa has been a good one. Alfa - "Always look for another".

I had a timing belt break on my Toyota 25 years ago; never buying another one.

I've spent some time in Europe/Russia and I can't say that the Alfas have much of a different reputation now. Sporty, fun to drive, good looking but still not particularly reliable.

Either way, this car is interesting to me. Just not sure I trust it.

I am digging his review on this car, but I like his reviews in general...

If the dry weight is 1973 lbs and if the US version is supposedly going to be 250lbs heavier does that mean the wet, curb, weight is going to be around 2500lbs?

I just wish there was an option to row the gears.

You raise a good point. Caymans and Boxsters have a very good reputation for reliability. I have my eye on a Cayman S, but it seems as though the prices will be close. So I thought, well it does look cool and it is certainly far more unique, but reliability and support from the Porsche community certainly would be a plus. And I hope that 60 time is conservative because I thought the new Cayman does a few tenths better than the claimed 4.5 to 60 out of the 4c. The cheaper Corvette just kills it in speed, but it won't be as nimble as a 2500 pound car.

Yeah with the PDK I'm sure the Cayman S breaks into the 3's
