Default The age old question: To sell or not to sell?

So here's the situation. I have owned my MY03 S2000 for 12 years now. We have been through a lot together. It just rolled over 40k miles and she is in pretty good condition. I recently have gotten back in touch with my Hotrod roots and purchased a 1956 Chevy pickup to work on. My decision is. Should I sell my S2000 and my DD Outback and buy a Tundra or Ram or keep the S, the 56 and the Outback? Just looking for people's thoughts on what they would do in my situation. Thanks folks.

Absolutely no way I would sell my S2000 for a pickup truck, but I can't answer this question for you personally.

Keep the S, the 56 and the Outback.

Interesting that these are separate social strata vehicles. I can't see hanging around '56 pickup guys myself.

Don't sell.

I dream of S =/= I dream of truck.

I would bet money that your S is in nearly mint condition, if not I think you would know where it needs attention.

Ponder this:

Sell it and have sellers remorse only to buy another that you will know little about? It seems that your car is not a burden at all as you have owned it for so long with little maintenance(Honda!).

I bought a MY03 SSM two years ago and have never thought about selling. I am actually planning on buying another because I love the car so much, will be an AP2 for the second one though.

Here are my parting words as copied from your signature. Give your head a shake!

"2003 Silverstone - Purchased 7/30/04 Oh happy day!!! Paid off 10/22/08!!!"

Do NOT sell the S2000. Far too many posts in here describing seller's remorse. The grass is always greener...

So essentially you're wondering if you should sell your s and subaru for a brand new truck while having your project (cool ride btw), unless the need for the bed or towing capacity is paramount I'd say hell no. You can buy a beater pickup of that's the case and still make out.

Do you still drive the S or does it just sit in the driveway? I drive my MY '02 spring, summer and fall. I love the thing. I'll never sell it. But if I saw i was not using it in favor of something else, I might change my mind. I have an Austin Healey 3000 MKIII sitting in my garage. I did a significant percentage of the restoration by hand. the thing is beautiful. I hardly ever drive it, but i think it would kill me to sell it because I have so many years of work in it. The S2000 is different. I don't have that sort of personal investment in it. if I stopped using it, I'd sell it.

If you are digging the S2000 still; keep it. Dump the Outback and just daily your old pick up.

Sold my S and don't miss it at all. Doesn't sound like you drive it much.
