After 14 years, I have another Vette

A C7 Z51 or GS would be awesome, something I have considered before. Like I said earlier, there's a pretty sizable gap between the GR86s/Miatas of the world and the Corvettes, with really only the GR Supra being the only option in between I'd consider. But it gets muddied some when you factor in C7 used prices for Supra 6MT prices, and the perception of long term ownership costs of either. I like the C7 alot in that GM had the budget to fix alot of the issues (namely interior), and the LT1 should be dead bolt reliable. I do wonder if they ever fixed the gas tank issues they had with the C5 and C6, which is a bigger hassle since GM no longer produces gas tanks.

Of course, had to do my gratuitous 500 mile (tachometer move to 6,500rpm) acceleration run:

Sounds great! I also assume two things from that video: 1) you did not give it much RPM before launch so it could go much faster off the line and 2) the speedo is probably a bit behind like it is for modified S2000's.

Also got 'new' wheels installed as my wife and I didn't like the base silver ones. Found them for a good price from a nearby C8 owner who upgraded to Vossen wheels. I think black is a little played out, but they look better overall and hide the horrible brake dust from the Z51 pads.

WOW, that's fast! Congrats on the new pickup. What color did you order your Z06 in?

The 3LT Z06 would be roughly double the price of my 1LT Z51 and as totally amazeballs that 8600rpm LT6 is, I have a hard time thinking it's going to feel $70k more amazing. I just hope one of my buddies gets one and lets me drive it for a bit.

I definitely rolled lightly into the throttle before going WOT and didn't use launch control. Car literally had 501 miles on it, so didn't want to 'totally' abuse it. Not sure on speedo. I'll need to compare against GPS to see if it's accurate. My '23 Silverado is dead-on, so maybe GM is being more precise.
