Acura RL prices spiralling downward

That's insane! A $50K car (sticker price) going for $8.5K under sticker within a year of its release. It's a beautiful car inside - very comfortable, though a bit tight for its class - but man, is that ever a poor selling price. Looks like it's going the route of the previous generation RL as well...
Talk about a great buy as a two or three year old used vehicle.

looks like another case of the Phaeton syndrome. I guess the Acura brand isn't strong enough with consumers yet to play in the big leagues. very much like the Q45. oh well...disappointing for the company, but good news for buyers

slap a V8.. and the luxury buyers will start to look. Until then.. look for prices to continue falling
They need to increase the interior space of the RL, too. Luxury car buyers dine on steaks, not salad, you know.

It's a very nice car. I have driven 2 of them and it's a killer luxury vehicle. But like a lot of their cars, it's good at everything but not great at anything. Bang for the buck the TL is a much better buy. They don't sell RL's worth a flying fuk which is why the price is so low on them.

True, most of the RL's competition offers a V8, but most people still opt for the V6. I think the RL has too much in common with the TL and Accord that makes the extra $15k-$25k hard to understand.

If we're talking an Acura RL with a powerful V6, versus a car with a propeller or three-point star on the hood with a lower-power V/I6 for about the same cash, The propeller or three-point star are going to win very often. Why? Those two brands sell image. One could even argue the family crest+olive branches has more brand cachet than the pinched calipers at that price point.
Real-world capabilities being equal, Lindsey Lohan doesn't drive an SL65 because it gets her places fast.
