Acura F'ed up!!!

My g/f chose the TSX over the 3 series and I think she made a very good decision. FWD is better for her, she wouldn't know what to do with RWD if her life depended on it. That is the way with most drivers...
She didn't like the Accord V6 Coupe or sedan's styling. It looked like a "mom car" in her words. haha..
I wanted her to get the Accord V6 at first because of the sweet motor, but after driving the TSX a few times, the TSX is just plain more fun to drive, the interior is nice, the exterior lines are sleek, the car just feels good. Also, it gets the nice Acura warranty and service. The 200hp 2.4L 4 cylinder isn't very fast, but it's a very smooth motor, has a nice torque curve and sounds good. Also, the mileage is pretty good too.

I think you make a very good point- most people, especially women do not know how to drive a car the way most of us enthusiasts do. A front wheel drive car is much safer for those who dont care about hitting the apex and weaving through traffic. It is more stable and less chance for oversteer- and we all know how the s oversteers. I have to take a crap now. Ill put more info in later

This makes no sense. the TSX should be the same price with a 260 hp V6. I would love to have one of those babies. But then the TL would have to be bumped up to 300 hp and then the RL wouldn't sell and the NSX's engine wouldn't get any more props. See, that's what honda gets for making their upper end cars so sorry.

So... the TSX is an Accord killer. Not a 3 Series Killer. Everyone that I have heard that bought one was considering an Accord. Way to go Honda... you made a car to take sales away from another one.
Not a 3 series killer? It wasn't suppose to be a killer. The 3 series was a benmark and it's purpose it to fill the gap between the RSX and the TL. Noticed how your friends were considering a Honda over the TSX and not the BMW.

The thing I think you are forgetting is that this is just your opinion.
I'm seriously looking at the TL. And frankly prefer the front wheel drive over the rear wheel, I have to drive through snow storms, ice, rain, and all kinda of other shit, 4wd would be better, but FWD will suit just fine.
If I want to rip around in a sports car, I'll take my S2000. If I want a nice safe ride, or a car that I can lend to my parents for an outing, I prefer FWD. no one can deny that in 90% of the cases its safer for 90% of the population.
You are pissed and asking Honda to make a car that suits your needs, and ofcourse the needs of a very few people.
If that was thier mission, then great cars like the S2K and the NSX would no exist.. they'd have no money to build them!

I don't think that you've looked at Acura's 2003 sale numbers lately. They are less than spectacular.
Also, I never said git rid of the TL, I just said that Acura is not taking advantage of the market the way it should. Lexus is the only Japaneese luxury car segement that seems to have the right idea. I need to be the CEO of Acura. I would pork up the power, make all the cars have AWD as an option, and offer higher end cars like I stated eariler. I would also trash the NSX and make the next Acura sports car a $50k sports car. I would trash the RL and make a WL with a V8 engine. I would de-pontiac the TL and clean up the back end and take off the ugly orange stuff off the front lights. I would revamp the RSX and make it come with RWD and give it an ivtec V6 with 282 hp. I'd give it 18 inch rims and refreshen it a bit and jack up the price to $31,000. There would also be a Type R RSX that would have a 334 hp V6 with 19 inch rims and it would cost $42,000. I would introduce a V10 engine that would go into the upper level WL and also be used in the Type R version of the "new" sports car. The Type R version of the new sports car would cost $75,000 and come in hard top and convertible.
