Take a minute to figure out what you are argueing. Just because the Eclipse is made in Illinois, and not JDM doesn't mean it's not Japanese. Second, the Eclipse may not fit a sports car mold from an enthusiast standpoint, it does however appeal/appear that way to the general public. The Eclipse (current model) could be considered a sports car. It has as decent amount of power 265hp, sport suspension, aggressive style etc... It is certainly not an econo-box or luxury car. It fits in quite well in the sports car market. Not every car is an S2000 and shouldn't be compared to one all the time.
