Default 98 V6 Honda accord

My mother in law has 1998 V6 Honda accord coupe. The car will not crank. The starter turns over and the battery has 12-13 volts at idle and 10-11 at cranking. I checked all the ignition fuses and fuel pump fuses. She has not run the car out of gas. I moved the automatic shifter in and out of park thinking the park switch was broken. We replaced the battery and still no difference. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

3 weeks ago, my 98 V6 Accord went out. It actually died in a Taco Bell drive-thru, at peak lunch time around a business district with 7-8 cars behind me. Pushing it out was a blast. Alternator, charging system, timing belt, not worth the $$ to fix. Not to mention the tranny was going to hell as well (jerked out of 1st and 2nd, which i heard was a common problem in 98 V6's). Sold it for $2,800 and enjoying my S2k.

Hope you can fix your mom's though. Good luck.

She had it at Honda before I could tell her what it was. Sure enough she said it was the solenoid. Oh well she needed the timing belt replaced any how so she let them fix it. Thanks for the help

It might have been an issue with the ignition switch. There was a safety recall for the 6th generation Accords (1998-2002) where the ignition switch got burnt out over time, causing intermittent ignition failure (both while driving and stopped). Honda replaces it for free, no matter the age of the car.
