$90K+ for 1000 miles
Saw this in Automobile Mag.
2001 550 Barchetta with 1000 miles sold for $217K (new sold for over $300K)
The car depreciated $90K, not to mention tax, interest, and insurance (probably another $30K).
What gets me is how you can drive a car only 1000 miles in 3-4 years.

A friend of mine who's in the "I've got money to burn." situation told me that his 550 Maranello has gone down a fair chunk. Despite the fact that it's a Barchetta, the 550 line has been depriciating kinda quick.
My guesses:
1. 355 was sportier and more in demand (esp. here during the Tech Boom)
2. 360 was/is faster
3. The 575 is touted as vastly superior to the 550, and has the F1 shifters and a bunch of other bells and whistles.
. . . please note those are my guesses. . . nothing more.
However, said friend finds the 550 immediately more drivable than his 355. Yes, in relative terms the 550's are 'bargains.' If you've got $217K to burn, this might be a good buy. . . especially since the numbers available are still limited (by Ferarri terms).
I'm still trying to figure out how to afford a 328/308, let alone a 348 or better. . .

Over at Ferrarichat.com, one guy said (in general) it's best to buy a 10 year old ferrari b/c it's lost most of it's depreciation and tho it'll cost more to maintaine you won't get the big depreciation hit as well.
So lets see if I start saving now in 10-12 years the F430 will be down to half-price lets call it $100K.
