If you're racing on a tight kart track, or an auto-x. Race at Road America with the Vettes and Vipers and 911s and no, it's not practical.

From a roll at a speed where traction is no longer an issue. FWD cars have less drivetrain loss meaning more power to the wheels given the same engine. A perfect example, the DSMs you mentioned. Race a stock Eclipse GS-T and an Eclipse GS-X from a roll, and the GS-X will get owned.

oh, well yeah, but thats comparing AWD to FWD, in which case there is a TON of difference. but how does that have any advantage over, say RWD? the reason i have a fwd eclipse is for cruising and commuting and my awd talon as my toy. i would love to have a rwd car so i can have decent launches from a dig as well as top end power from a roll. but hey, my '90 talon was 2200$ and the cheapest MR2 turbo i could find was at least 7000$ and in poor condition. but anyway, thats another story. i just dont like fwd for anything other than a daily driver.

I have the video of them actually driving that car around on the streets and at the strip. I am not sure how to post it.. but you can PM me and I can try emailing it to you. All I can say is that thing sounds and looks CRAZY on the streets! WOW!
