600rr to 1000rr?
My local dealership has some 04 leftover CBR1000rr's in stock. MSRP is 10999, they are giving me the bike for 9500+tax&license. My 04 600rr would be also traded in for 6500, which I think is a very strong trade-in. I really wanted a ZX-10 or a R-1, but at this kind of deal I might live with 10hp less or 30 pounds more. what do you guys think?

I would get the R1 if I were you. I sat on a 1000RR at the stealership and it felt very cheaply built to me. Also I have never been a big fan of Honda bikes.

The 1000RR is a great bike, it'll have all the hp (and more) you need, and although it's a little heavier than the comp (like the 600RR), the mass is well centralized to minimize the perceived difference.

There is no better bike for the track than the 6. if you havent ever been to a track day, you should check it out.
seems to me the 600 would be the better choice, but to each his own.
and for an avg joe riding around town, i dont now if 10hp will make alot of difference. or the little bit of extra weight.

I've had 600's and literbikes, and greatly prefer literbikes for the street....not b/c I need to go faster, but I like the extra torque.

Having ridden my friends 600RR I would rather have the 1000 for street riding myself, but both are too painful for my body to ride very long (knees and wrists)
You have to work the gearbox a lot and rev the pee out of the 600 to get in the power, then it's too much.
