guys are paying couples hundred bucks just for 20 min on the new Ducati 1098. so I think 495 for 45 min on the atom is worth it. If I considered buying one, I'd definitely give it a shot by renting first.
I don't know about driving it all out though, because I'm sure if you crash it, you buy it.

That's not too much considering the car is something you might never buy simply because it's not a DD, and quite impractical. There won't be many other ways to ever enjoy this car otherwise.
Word of warning though, those who've tried it, have almost all ended up buying one...

I'm going to WC driving this week-end and paying a lot more than that. I know you already did WC driving.
I plan on doing performance driving schools at some time. I'd go for it if I were you.
I don't live near any of those tracks or else I'd probably do it. I'd love to drive an Atom on a track, but would never drive one on the street.

I think the point is more to test out the Atom than it is to have a visceral experience, isn't it? After all, Brammo will credit you the cost of the test drive if you decide to actually purchase one. From that perspective, it's perfectly, 100% worth it.
But yeah, if you just want to get some jollies, there are cheaper ways.

You could prob. get tracktime on a shifter kart for much less, and have an even more visceral experience.
