$30K range. Can't have a flashy DD to work - need to be sensitive to the union folks' recent sacrifices.

So:

Mitsu
BMW
VW
Audi

Are the only 4 car companies in the US that offer 4 doors, auto DSG/DCT, and AWD.
Showing up in a new BMW is going to make the union guys feel better?

Its an entry level luxury car DUH. The union guys will feel better that he chose to buy the entry level BMW instead of a //M

they said that about 2009's too. And it was just going to be the coupe and vert. but i dont think any of them go it and i am pretty sure the steptronic is not the same as DCT.

No AWD with the 2.0T's.

Evo X, 335xi, or an Audi A4. What price range are you shooting for?
2009 or 2010 offers the 2.0t with quattro I was about to pull the trigger on one but the back seats a waaaayyyyy too small.

If you insist on not fixing the wife I'd either:

1. Save $10k and get an 06/07 325ix/330ix auto CPO at the 0.9% they are offering

2. Same as above but dont' save the $10k and get a 335ix auto

0.9 is like free money

i've considered that angle for the 11 years i've been married, but if she knew how to drive a stick, my S2000, my CRX w/B16A, my WRX w/mods, my Cayman S would not remain "mine only" for too long. there are things in life that i just don't share with the wife, and these stick(s) of mine were not meant for her pleasure

My wife's '05 Jetta TDI meets 2 out of your 3 requirements (turbo yes, DSG yes, but fwd), and it could conceivably be parted w/ for the right price.

+1. Evo MR checks all of the boxes, and is just an incredible car. You can pick up a lightly used 2008 for $30K.
