Buick and Mercury are still in business? I guess someone needs to sell to rental car companies

Secret internal memo from Buick:
" To regain our market shares, we will roll out several brand new vehicles with boring designs and place them in commercials with Aero Smith's singing as the background music.....This will ensure no one under forty will be interested in our products, so we can focus our efforts on the forty to seventy years old demographic, which is an improvement of our previous customer demographic: fifty to eighty years old."
I strongly believe this is how Buick's management think, otherwise I am at a totally loss that why they keep on rolling out boring looking products even my grandmom doesn't want to been seen in one.

The more I see GM's current and future lineup, the more convinced I become that GM must have "downsized" or eliminated their design department??? If I was an engineer at GM, I would hang my head in shame...(especially if I was the guy who designed the GTO)
Where is the creativity, the style, the appeal??? Why is it so hard to understand that Americans do not want to buy ugly, boring cars...

Like I said in my previous posting, GM has to be making a consistent effort in producing ugly and boring looking cars. It is not an easy thing to do. They have to consistently ignore good designs and embrace bad designs like butt ugly Aztek, blend looking GTO, shark fins GrandAm, Grandpa Buick, Ford twin: Mercury, despite of falling sales. It takes a teams of excutives with their heads in the sands to do that.
