The 2nd OFFICIAL GT-R Thread
#23
Well I remember reading that the GTR was posting times at the N-ring that were definitely faster than one of the p-cars. Many failed to believe it because the times posted were not official, now Iam wondering since the 7:38:54 time is official if it is faster than the p-car that it was being compared to.

I don't have the patience to wait for Nissan's site to load. Are you saying that time is official because Nissan says it is? I'm betting any real 7:38 was run by an official ringer (smaller pulleys, anyone?).

I don't think it's as quick at the Ring as a CGT or Z06.
It doesn't matter too much to me except I like to give credit to real numbers. But if it's 7:38 or 7:48 or 7:58 it's still fairly quick. I would like to see some good times but it's not all that matters to me.
To me it's not so much it's numbers (ie 0-60 or 1/4 mile or Ring time) those are important a little. But I care more about the driving feel, quality of interior, comfort, sutability for daily driving and fun to drive.
I'd like to have a DSG-type tranny and AWD for rainy days and driving to work, the 10/10ths aspect is rarely used (by me) so I care more about the 90% of the time when I'm just chillin as much as the 10% of the time when I am pushing it.
