jealous is not my problem. id honestly take a C5 Z06/996 over this car in a second. im not much of a nissan fan, not really a GTR fan and could honest give two shits about the release of the fanboi fueled, overhyped two door maxima.
will i look foolish or will nissan. the GTRs been around for 30yrs and just now it comes to the states. nissan thinks that its name is finally big enought to merit a high end sports car that will sell for 60k+, more like 70-80K with the V being 100k atleast. i dont think it will sell at all honestly. they'll see a few to rich fanbois, and those of us in the playstation gen that can afford it, but outside of that it'll be showroom candy. with the ZR1 up coming for 100k, that is aimed at the enzo with the most luxo that chevy's ever offered, and the long 911 history, and devoted buyer.
IMHO, this car is a answer to question that no-one asked. at the rate tha Z's and 997's are selling, where is the market share to represent this car.
its amazing to me that a car that hasnt ever really been road tested is already got set in stone performance times? ya nissan says it'll do it, but will it?
if nissan was really serious about trying to sell this car for that kinda money, they'd given us the R34 and watched its sales history.
if acura couldnt sell a "ground breaking" NSX that was well ahead of its time, why will nissan. the NSX was making even more of a wave in the automotive world back in its day, than the GTR is trying to. it did sell. and yes it got left behind, but not really for 5 or 6 years.
so honestly, i dont think you know what youre talking about, in fact not a damn guy on this board does, and we wont for the next year or so.

But I've got better things to do than expand your close minded, laughable views on why you think the GTR sucks and will be a failure. As Kumainu said, we'll be the one's laughing. Meanwhile have fun getting passed up like a minibus by a local GTR near you.

dude, if you're gonna knock the GTR and call it an Xterra, you're gonna have to admit that the vette is a cobalt or a malibu or some other american POS. It isn't like the C6 is reknowned for its interior....

am i nuts for not thinking that this car is gonna make a dent in a very competitive sub-supercar level?

The GTR will be a force in the $60K market without a doubt.
That does not mean the Z06 will not sell or the 911or the M3 will not sell, just as the G35 did not take away from the 3-series, it grew the market.
I think Nissan will be able to sell boat-loads of the GTR
I am 75% leaning towards the GTR.
I could get a M3, IS-F, Cayman S or C6 (etc..) but the GTR (IMO) has a good combination of performance and useability.
I'm not happy if it weighs 38xx lbs (a Cayman S weighs 700 lbs less) but other than that it has a lot going for it.

hmmm, I'd say 911s are what they are are because the exact opposite. ie. GT3 - no gadgets, no electoronics, just the driver and a well sorted car.
That's exactly what the driver does (when they know what they're doing).
Still, the benefit of traction cannot be substituted by skill.

Which is right up some peoples alley.
