It DOES NOT have more steering feeling than the S2K, not alot of cars do. But it does have a ridiculous amount of grip through the corners, and it will smoke a S2K on a road course.
Def. drop by a dealer and drive one, you won't regret it. Go for an higher mileage '02 if possible, '01s had oil-burning issues.

The Boxster S fits your description best, but I like the idea of buying something fully depreciated and saving your pennies till you can get your hands on an Elise.

If I were tired of the S2K, I would buy a C5 (Z06) for $25k. I would not buy a $25k NSX or boxter. I would want to spend 32-35k on an NSX. A car from 1991 is going to have problems and need money thrown at it.. there is no way around it.
