2016 Porsche 911R
If you have money to burn, and love to row your own gears, Porsche debuted a 911 that would be perfect for you:
The 2016 Porsche 911 R is a no-bullshit, elemental road-going machine: a six-speed transmission is the only option, and that’s bolted to a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six from the GT3 RS cranking out 500 horsepower at 8250 RPM and making 338 lb-ft of torque at 6250 RPM.

I don't think I've ever wanted a car more in my life than this one. 500HP at 3021 lbs. Kreygasm.
If I had to nitpick I would want it without the stripes. I hate stripes. Seems as though they are mandatory and since I don't own a 918 I would never have the chance to purchase this vehicle outside of the used market with insane markup. That houndstooth interior though. Simply marvelous.

Love, love, love it. Beautiful, elegant, tastefully restrained but subtly aggressive. 3021 lbs (without A/C and sound system)! Manual transmission is a big bonus, too.
I believe they'll only make 600 and 918 Spyder owners get first crack at them. Ergo, none will be available to the general public.
$185K is a lot for a car using old engine designs and not a lot of options but that's Porsche for you.

Nice car - but just more pointless hype.
It's just another low volume, limited production variant of a car you can't buy. Collectors (in cahoots with the dealer) buy, sit on 5 years, sell for profit, wash rinse repeat. Cars don't get seen/driven and sit in climate controlled storage. They know what people want - yet don't offer it. Why can't you get that interior on a "base 911 S?"? Nothing is preventing it other than Porsche controlling it's market by limiting production.
911 Speedster
911 Sport Classic
GT3 RS 4.0
etc. etc.

Very, very sweet car, but basically impossible to buy. I don't have any clout with Park Place Porsche since I've only bought one car from them, but a friend who has bought several asked about the 911R and they poked him jokingly and laughed. Then they asked him, "Do you own a 918?"
There is NO way any mortal will get a 911R, so just like Ryne said, you can't buy it unless you already have 10+ P cars including a 918.
Porsche sucks in that regard. Why not make more of the highly sought after cars? I'm glad I got a GT4 and it has helped my resale value if I ever choose to sell, but I wouldn't mind if Porsche made more of them to spread the love around. Life is too short to not let everyone buy the car they want.
Also, I'm 99% sure this is the 9A1 derivative from the new GT3 RS 4.0. This isn't the engine from the 997 4.0.
Also read they lowered the redline to 8,500 from the 8,800 of the PDK equipped GT3 RS to give a little more margin, but expect some money shifts on these cars which will be quite sad and hugely expensive. I bet Porsche will charge $75k+ for an engine replacement. Gulp...

The high end 911 market is now dominated by car speculators, collectors, and flippers who do nothing but game the market for a profit. The people who actually are granted the opportunity to purchase a car very rarely drive them and almost never enjoy them to their fullest. They have become investments and show pieces.
As I'm currently typing this I guarantee you 100% of these cars have already been spoken for. A few of them will be sold back to the dealers, then flipped for a huge profit, but surely NONE of them are currently available for purchase at MSRP. I would guess the market for this car is already 50-80K over MSRP, and that might be a conservative guess.
