People say it looks like an S2000 because it has got two doors, two seats, a soft top, and four wheels. The headlights, the curvature of the bonnet and feader looks nothing like that of the S2000. The rear end however, reminds me of the Z3/Z4.

I think I quite like it! Good thing is these things are always affordable.

It looks pretty decent actually.
Anyone know about the engine? And redline? I seem to have an unhealthy obsession with high revving engines.

If you think any Miata looks like an S2000 or vice versa your opinion of design is completely irrelevant... They look nothing alike. They both have 2 doors, and 4 wheels, and headlights and taillights.

If you think they look alike I would highly recommend you have your eyes examined. And if your eyes are fine I would stop commenting on anything design related..

Your opinion that they look nothing alike is as equally an "opinion"..... is it not?????

We are talking about the "lines" of the car..... that look similar... not that cars are look alike more than these perceived lines...

I see Maserati, Jaguar and even a bit S2000, I like it. Now, how about them engine specs though ...

Alfa and Mazda collaborated on this design.... With the top up, I see more S2000....

Note the straight bonnet, fender, and trunk.

There are definitely more lines on the S2000 than the new 2016 Miata, which carries a tradition of curves and feminine touches to it.

Looks mostly like a mini jag f type with z4 touches. Don't really see much s2k in there at all.

Yes, I agree with that..... But the S2000 is a 14 year old design and the Mx5 has morphed into a more aggressive and muscular car that our S2000s were from the inception. Take a look at the 2000 Mx5.... this new Mx5 looks more like the s2000 than its own predecessor.

Yeah, I think it will MAX out at 200hp.... from what I have read so far..... But they dropped some weight.....
MX5s are special cars as far as automotive history is concerned..... Even J Leno has one in his vast collection......

I gotta go with the doesn't look like an s2000 camp. And I mean no judgement against either by saying that, they both look good in their own ways. The profile of the miata is much curvier with a taller butt and a lower front. Its overall shape reminds me most of the nb.
