I can't help but say that, because IMO CUVs are utterly pointless creations
My town has no storm drainage, so it regularly floods. Most storms result in a number of flooded cars.
If it wasn't for that, I'd have a car for a daily (instead of my Acura RDX).
Congrats on the Macan. I thought it a sin for Porsche to enter the SUV market, but their offerings sure have grown on me.
However, my 5-6 inch comment was directed at seating and/or roof height. The average CUV doesn't have 5-6" more ground clearance than a car. More like 2-3".

^lol, I'm looking out my office window where I see a CRV parked behind a Golf, the CRV definitely doesn't look much bigger or taller. That being said, I think a CUV can offer more "utility" than a sedan when one has a baby (with all the things that need to be transported).

When you're talking about traversing water, even a few inches can matter.
Maybe I also should have elaborated; most CUV's air intakes (the thing I'm most concerned with) are substantially higher than the average car's.

The cuv class is full of cars all shapes and sizes...including some I think should fall into the wagon category (such as the mercedes gla). Some even consider the subaru forester a cuv. I can attest the macan's stance is definitely more that of a suv. The Q5 gives the same vibe. The Honda CRV and Acura RDX feel a little more cramped inside and outer appearance look like overall smaller cars to me. And cars kike the Mercedes GLA and Subaru Forrester just look weird imo more resembling a taller wagon. All are a great size for family of 3 and a pup lol. Any more additions then may need to upgrade to a full size suv.
Anyway, just hoping my review steers some ppl in my similar situation to not worry about buying the macan if its something they have been eyeballing. Its a great drivers car for not being a car that would typically fall into a category that would even consider competing for best drivers car. Just dont sell your soul out and buy a van .
