75K for a car that turns laps with a 911 Turbo and an F12? There's your bang for you buck.

Yeah until it overheats all the fluids and have to pull it off track.

I didn't have any issues with mine doing 30 minute sessions in Lancaster. It was pretty much 100 degrees from start to finish. I think a lot of those issues are related to the auto transmission, no?

Marioshi, the fluids overheating is WAY overblown on the C7. The 6-speed auto can overheat and throw a warning, but nothing new there. The other stuff will get hot, but you have to REALLY be flogging the crap out of the car to get any warnings whatsoever. I was beating the piss out of the Stingrays at Spring Mountain outside of Vegas at a Level 3 driving school and, yeah, the coolant and oil temp got up the gauge a fair bit, but the car was still running great and I got no warnings and the car seemed to be fine. These were 7-speed Z51 manual cars.
I guess what I'm saying is I would GLADLY race for lap times against any amateur guy running a stock Z/28 against a stock 7-speed manual Z51 Stingray with, good brake fluid, sport cup 2 tires, and an alignment and I'd like my chances. I'd also have another $10k+ in my pocket.
I really like the Z/28 and think it's a beast of a car and will likely APPRECIATE in value over time due to it's uniquness, but a Stingray with Trofeo equivalent type tires (like the sport cup 2) is going to be VERY close in laptimes if not even a touch faster IMHO.

Chevy needs to bring back the Cobalt SS.
My guess on the Z28's is that some will collect dust and in 2 years you can pick up a leftover for $20k under sticker.....kinda like ACR Vipers.

Oh yeah, the temps were high, but they went up quickly and settled high. I don't think its a flaw and its nice knowing that the engine will protect itself if it thinks things are running too hot. I made no modifications to the car before going, didn't even put in the recommended track weight oil, also its not a Z51.

Exactly! So, you have these new Vette guys taking their Stingray to the track and they see coolant hit 240F and oil hit 280-290F and they think the car has overheated and will explode. haha. I've been running those temps on the track for over 15 years with my Vettes using plain ol' 5W-30 Mobil 1 with ZERO durability/reliability issues.

I have A.D.D. but didn't C&D destroy the engine in their Vette during the Lightning Lap... how many laps did they get in? does it say why it died?
I don't have my issue here at work but I think once they got their 2:53.x lap (or whatever it was) that was the end of the engine.
