In the end, as awesome as this car is, it's still not something most would want to track and it's not something most would want to daily drive, either.
1. Very expensive consumables - 305s in 19in diameter are hugely expensive, plus those brakes will be expensive to fix if the rotors have issues (some Porsche and Ferrari owners have had issues, I believe, with carbon rotors). The cheapest Pirelli tires in that size are about pushing $1900 (installed) and the R-compound-type tires are closer to $2100 installed.
2. Still too heavy for track driving
3. Completely impractical as a daily driver - no stereo, no real sound deadening, no spare tire or inflation kit, but still seats four
It's a Lotus Elise without the light weight, instant handling responses and cheaper consumables, albeit with a lot more room.
It makes sense to someone that loves muscle cars and has more money than they need and doesn't care about running costs. Personally, I love the car but there is no way I would buy one for that kind of money with those kinds of costs (and compromises).

Nope, never did like Lambos. They look like overgrown Hot Wheels. They break constantly. And the Aventador is only slightly over my subjective limit at 3,500 lbs but huge in its physical dimensions. Not my cup of tea.

That's about the weight of the current M3, which seems to do fine despite its heft. I'm interested to see what this can do before I start talking about how terrible it is. At least Chevrolet is trying, which is more than can be said for a lot of Japanese car companies these days.

Off topic, but I'd be surprised if the Aventador curb weight is really 3,500lb.

For a twisty mountain road, I'd rather drive one of these Italian automobiles than a lightweight Lotus.

Don't forget the 458, as-tested curb weight as high as 3490 lb. These cars are all incredibly fast, but as far as I'm concerned, the Elise/Exige, Alfa Romeo 4C, are more truly sports cars, and I would bet are more genuinely fun on a twisty mountain road.
