I'm interested to see what this can do before I start talking about how terrible it is. At least Chevrolet is trying, which is more than can be said for a lot of Japanese car companies these days.

Yeah, I agree. Chevy may be able to put up some impressive numbers but at two tons or nearly two tons there seems little difference. I have a hard time believing any car that big and heavy would be fun in a way that puts a smile on your face no matter where you happen to be driving. My personal cutoff for fun cars is around 3,200 lbs.

I'd take that Z28 over an Elise/S2000/whatever other light car. It's definitely fun, but a different kind of fun. Then again, I've never been the type to enjoy parking lot acrobatics/cone dodging.

The design refresh looks good to me. Front looks nice and the rear looks less offensive than the current one. The 500 horse LS-7 is a real gem and while not light, I'm sure the car will be a hoot to drive. It looks like a pretty thorough reworking to me and I think it's a mistake to underestimate it.
That said... $60,000 for a Z-28 camaro is just too much, IMO. That will buy a lightly used Z06 and for most people, that would be the obvious choice.

Where does it say that it will cost $60k? Despite having carbon ceramic brakes I have difficulty thinking this will cost more than the ZL1.

No official word yet, but MT estimated $60k as a base price.

Again, just conjecture, so don't get all riled up yet.

It would also be quite interesting to price this above the Corvette I think. As even the base model Stingray will outpace it around any race track.

I dont understand the point of this car. If someone wanted a light(er)weight car from GM with a big engine in the front, why wouldn't they just pick up a Corvette? Specifically the C6 Z06, or hell even the new base stingray like mentioned above. This is supposed to be a "specialty" car and "track oriented" but the corvette will do literally everything better than this, at a similar price. Dumb.

This is still a 2+2 so, technically, it's able to have 4 people inside. That's a bonus for dad's with a penchant for speed and track days....that happen to have kids.
