this kind of crap is what makes me not remotely interested in ever owning a nissan GTR. However, I'm sure that these policies are not representative of Nissan's actual policy. I work in a Retail HQ, and I can tell you that it is impossible to communicate a complex policy to a huge chain of stores or dealers in a way that will result in consistent messaging to the consumer. Try all you want, you're going to get crap like this.

None of this is to diminish the awesomeness of the GTR, it's a great performer and worthy of the praise given to it...but it isn't a value. Nothing with a $7500 brake job is a value.

If I was going to own one (and I still might), I'm going to drive it the way I want (GPS? Really?) and not going to pay the exorbitant maintenance fees (for a Nissan, performance and "exotic" nature be damned).

Here is some real world maintenance figures on a 30,000+ mile GT-R so some of you can stop bitching. Maintenance all done at the stealership.
Show me the Gallardo's maintenance for 30+ k miles.

Sure, there have been a few highly publicized instances of GT-R gearbox failure, but we experienced no trouble with our model's unit after a year of tough driving, including about 40 full-bore acceleration launches. Let us repeat that last bit: no trouble at all.
In the near future, I'll get one, as it's a perfect all-season supercar, which is exactly what I need.
