I did not know the head had an integrated header into the manifold. That is lame.
HOWEVER. If you already have a K24 bottom end then it makes it THAT much easier to swap a K20 head onto it.
It was after all the K24block/K20head that is the killer combo after all.

Even if it had VTEC on the exhaust cam, I'd be willing to cut Honda some slack but in its current form, its just not as good as good of an engine as the K20A2/K20Z3....

I'm sure this is what Honda likes, and yes, I noticed performance was never mentioned.....
Lotus Engineering have launched a production-ready, highly advanced cylinder head with integrated exhaust manifold (IEM) which is designed to reduce manufacturing costs, emissions and weight on most petrol-engined passenger vehicles.
Lotus estimates that for a typical DOHC 16-valve 1.6 cylinder petrol engine, the IEM can:
* cut up to 5 percent off the total build cost
* reduce catalyst light-off time by up to 20 percent
* reduce powertrain mass by up to 5 kg
* improve engine durability

IMO I would rather have more "stock" power then potential aftermarket power.
I like the looks and direction they are going with it, adding a non-hybrid fuel efficient model is great, but as for a FMC I think everyone expected more change.

No offense, but I don't think "it will be a good car IF I do a head swap on it" is exactly a stunning endorsement of a car. Its 2011; there's lots of good cars without a head swap out there...

looks like the last generation Accord coupe, only slightly smaller. I'm sorry guys but Honda's designers just plain suck in recent years. Their aero jellybean shape is sad IMO, I don't like anything coming out of their design studios in recent years.
The prototype concept CR-Z looked pretty nice but the version that made it to market was way watered down, not liking it at all either.

Noooppppeee Not likey. The current or I should say old gen Civic Si was really one of my favourites in the price range. Now with the new one in, and the new TC in. I would definetely be getting a TC if I was in the market.
The new civic just looks too Eclipseish and btw an ugly version of it
