Every first year design student has drawn a car with that back end, before the good ones figure out prettier ways to resolve the hatch meeting the trunk.

LOL, ouch. I have to agree with you on this, it's like they tried to find a shortcut to making a fastback and ended up with a hatchback. Not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, but it can certainly be done more elegantly. The Aston V8 Vantage being a perfect example. The CTS coupe reminds me more of the Chevy Citation.

That rear quarter view isn't the prettiest angle to look at, IMO.
The side profile is sleek and elegant. Very nicely done.
There's been quite a few test mules including the -V variant in GM's test fleet, so no doubt they're making it.
The V coupe would be a blast to drive.
I wonder how well it would sell though.

They had a commercial for this car during the 2012 movie previews. Not very inspiring, but the car looked good.

The Sportwagon is still the best looking of the CTS line.
For some reason after I saw the thread title of "...CTS Coupe", the image of the Sportwagon instantly popped in my mind in a positive way.

Great to see Cadillac doing more

I actually like it. I still feel like I need to be 50yrs old to drive one.

I would probably stick with the 4 door on this vehicle.

I'm not sure why, but when I look at that rear quarter shot I think of...

...odd, I know. The CTS Coupe's ginormous bumper reminds me of Bubba's jawline.

Uhm, I love my domestics but I think I'll pass on this one. The cars have always been too tall for my taste.
