2011 Accord Coupe
#6
I had the '05 Accord Cpe V6 6spd as a daily. I know, not the same car as you are asking, less hospower, etc but similar enough. It truly was a great car in its own class. Accord reliability, the shifter feel was sporty, great highway cruising, stock intake and exhaust note was exciting enough, decent gas mileage. The problem....
The accord was my daily and the S2000 for the weekends. Unfortunately, the Accord became real dull to drive by comparison and before long I was driving the s2000 ALL the time. Kinda defeated the purpose of having a daily. I tried the Accord Coupe you are asking about thinking the upgrade to a newer model would bring more driving excitement....it didn't. In fact worse. The newer Accord Cpes feel less sporty, less nimble, very wide and large. I took a long test drive, and never felt connected to the road. It is an ACCORD.
Would I recommend the Accord Coupe to someone looking for basic daily transportation to just rack up miles...absolutely yes. And The Cpe 6spd is the one to have. Are you thinking you will get a similar feeling of excitement as driving an s2000...nope.
This is just my opinion of course, please go out and drive one. It is worth your time and you may draw a different conclusion than me. For the record, I traded my Accord Cpe for a 350z Touring. I only say this so that you know more about what I'm looking for out of my car as I'm sure it varies from you. The 350z touring is good enough to put a smile on my face daily, but still will never replace the excitement of the s2000.
I would agree with JHOOBY's suggestion of the 3rd gen TL-S as a viable alternative, or G35.
Good Luck with whatever direction you go!
